Canadian-Chinese Professional Accountants Association (CCPAA) is hosting a seminar on IFRS 15 updates on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Fairview Mall Library.

This Seminar is designed for accounting professionals work in firms and/or industries, and who have the needs and/or interests in new rules on IFRS 15: Revenue from Contracts with Customers.

Speakers:

  • James Raptopulos, CPA, CA

James Raptopulos is an Assurance Services senior manager. He offers more than ten years of experience in public accounting, with particular focus on manufacturing, distribution and real estate. James has experience supervising large audit engagement for multinational clients reporting under IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE.

 

  • Patrick Chu, CPA, CA, FCCA(UK)

Patrick Chu is a senior manager in Grant Thornton’s Assurance Services practice in Southern Ontario. He has over 15 years of assurance and business advisory experience, offering strategic advice and business process improvements. Patrick is involved in managing all aspects of the audit, from preliminary planning through to the finalization of the financial statements. He ensures that engagements are conducted in an efficient and effective manner, complies with all professional standards from an accounting and disclosure standpoint and deals with major accounting and auditing issues. He is well-versed in reporting under IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE. In addition to his client facing role, Patrick also reviews the work of other Grant Thornton member firm as part of the Grant Thornton Assurance Review programme. Patrick has extensive experience working with clients in the Real Estate, Professional Services, Technology and Manufacturing and Distribution industries.
